Six visiting Aboriginal students from Jabiru Area School in the Northern Territory were welcomed to St Joseph’s College on Tuesday. The students are taking part in an immersion excursion and will be at the school for a week.

"We started a partnership via email with the Aboriginal students there and those here,’’ St Joseph’s teacher Brady Cooper said. ‘‘That resulted in us bringing the kids here for a week, from Monday to Friday, with teacher Paul Clarke,’’ he said. ‘‘Jabiru Area School has only 250 kids between the primary and secondary schools and we’ve got 800 at St Joseph’s. ‘‘So just experiencing that will be something.’’

Mr Clarke said the students were linked to the Mirarr Clan, the traditional custodians of Kakadu National Park.
